The BIG Surprise

It was 6AM this morning, we got the kids out of bed to help us take Tara and Wes to the Airport.

When we arrived, I bent down and told them that in all actuality we were all going, right this moment on an airplane to Orlando, Florida and spending a week on vacation, going to a 5 Star resort and Disney World. Of course, neither believed us, so I broke out the itinerary and showed them their names on there.

I think the fact that it was so early in the morning made it so they were still in disbelief.

We started planning this little adventure about 6 months ago. Tara managed to find, in my opinion, the deal of the century on airline tickets. Shelly, Tara, and Anna, (our neighbor) have spent the last several months getting clothes and trinkets to make this a fun time for everyone.

The hardest part has been keeping it a secret from the kids, it seems that everyone but them were in on it.

Needless to say, they both got their very first plane ride. And thankfully both were very good on the planes. We flew from Salt Lake City to St. Paul, Minnesota; ate lunch, switched planes, and arrived in Orlando at about 5PM local time.

The current highlight is the fact that we are cruising around in a white Kia minivan.

After a PHENOMENAL dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, where I found my new favorite dessert of all time, the Kahlua Chocolate Cheesecake, we headed back to the hotel, and as I write this at 10 PM, I am sitting poolside watching the kids play in the Pirate Ship pool.

The resort we are going to be staying at is the Marriot Horizons in Orlando.

Needless to say, after a day of travel, we are all a little hammered. So what better than a fun-filled day at a theme park to bring a little sunshine. That's the plan for tomorrow, we'll post updates and pictures here as often as possible.
