A "Free" Saturday

It had been WAAAAYYYYY too long since the kids and I went and did the monthly Home Depot Kids Club Project.

This is one of my favorite times during the month, it's just me and the kids together, out of the house, doing something they both love.

This month's project was a "Fire Engine" with a whistle that detaches.

Even with his broken arm, Ry Guy was able to pound in the nails and posts for the wheels. I needed to start a couple of nails, but he did the majority of it himself.

In the end, the kids LOVE the firetruck, but I think they love being with dad even more.

We were supposed to go straight from Home Deopt to Kylee's soccer game, however, due to a rain storm that was cancelled.

We spent the next several hours driving... Errands to Costco, Target, Kmart, as well as a quick jaunt into Ogden to look at the house that I just put under contract. We're exploring options on it right now, rental or quick sell to another investor. Poor Kylee got sick and managed to empty her stomach on the side of the road.

I'm sure Tiffany or Tara will post the pictures of Brooklyn's first birthday party which was where we spent the majority of the evening.

You guys are pretty handy, what a fun project. I feel like a real winner these days, I barely say good morning and good night to the kids some days.

Let us know how the investments go.

O they are so cute! I never even knew of the project kid thing! I will have to check it out at our future HD store. Especially Wyatt would love to have a real wood truck the girls will dive into those projects too! Thanks for sharing.

Man they never had those kind of projects when we were rasing our kids. Especially not for the dad's to do with them. Ry and Ky you did an excellent job. I will have to see them when we come out to your house again. I think you are right Marc, they enjoy the dad time the most. The house looks like one in my first young married ward. Where exactly is it?
