Thanksgiving Week

The week of Thanksgiving was a fun-filled and activity-filled set of days.

Tara and Wes came down to our house to spend the weekend with the kids as we were at the Johnson Mill.

Monday Night they were still here for F.H.E. - Rylan did the cutest activity, he planned this treasure hunt with clues hidden inside and out. After finding several clues we were given the clue "I Reflect While Standing", so we headed up to the main bathroom to look at the mirror. While we were all looking in the mirror, Rylan pulled the final clue out of his pocket which stated "The Real Treasure Is A Family."

We also started to put up Christmas decor. The kids were all excited to put up the tree in the front room upstairs.

With the tree complete we took the first holiday photo of the season.

Thanksgiving was held at Tiff & Trevor's this year. It was a good get together for the Barnes family, it only could have been better had Nate, Angie, and the girls been able to be there with us.

Trevor's sister Jen and her family were down from Canada and added their fun to the festivities. Kylee loves it when they come down so she can play with their girls.

I did get a snapshot of all the prep going on during the last few minutes before dinner was served.

The food was FANTASTIC and plentiful, they did an excellent job preparing a spread for so many people and all went well.

Shelly and I took one picture before we ate dinner... Isn't she beautiful?!
She, of course, had the kids looking darling as well!

After dinner, while the boys went to see the movie Quantum of Solace, which I must admit was even better the 2nd time, the girls, and Rylan, worked on putting together a gingerbread house.

After dinner and activities, RY & Ky went up to Grandma & Grandpa Taylor's to spend the night.

BLACK FRIDAY found the girls SHOPPING - Painful to the wallet!

So, Wes and I took the opportunity to go and see the movie Transporter 3. I expected to see a movie with mindless car chases and explosions and no plot. Amazingly I really enjoyed it, I'll have to actually watch the first one again and see the 2nd.

Shelly spent the night with Tara and Julie so they could do some power shopping on Saturday morning, so the kids and I headed back to the house. Saturday we finished putting up the tree in the basement and the lights around the house outside.

(Sorry for the blur on this one)

From the outside the house and front room tree look really cool. I didn't wrap the quakies this year, too much work for how they look now that they are as big as they are.

I guess one picture of the Barnes Family Thanksgiving is all we get. It sounds like you had a great time, but since there are no pictures of the food or family members; I cannot render judgement, YET! Mark, you do a fabulous job of taking pictures of your family, but we may need to put you in charge of taking pictures of the rest of my family and blogging it. They must be just TOO busy to do it their selves!!

The house looks great, inside and out. We just got our lights up, so we will post some pictures in the next few days!

Wow what a great looking house. I don't even have one tree up. I usually just enjoy my mom's since it is just me. Oh and my friends cat. She wants to give it to her daughter on Christmas so I am stuck cat-sitting. Send Kylee over quick. Marc, you were right....
