Happy New Year!

Celebrating the passing of a good year!

Kylee has been at Kelli's for the past couple of days, so we didn't get the chance to have her celebrate with us. She did talk Kelli into getting her hair cut, VERY RELUCTANTLY did Mom and Dad agree... We'll have to see what 2009 brings for Kylee's new look!

Dylan got dressed up a bit and spent the evening with his friends Sydney and Boone, they went to a party at one of his Cross Country team mates and then to the regional dance.

While the teenagers were away, we got together with the Johnson's and the Loertschers again to ring in the new year. Sadly, Bruce was forbidden to make his famous Elk Stew. Last year, everyone agreed it was the best stew they had ever eaten. When we told Shelly (3 weeks later) that it was made from Elk, she was a bit "sick" and a lot pissed at Bruce. Needless to say, She and Anna both threatened Bruce with harm if he made any "weird" food this year. So, Chef Bruce whipped up some chicken cannelloni that took him 2 days to prepare. WOW What Good Food!!!!

As good as the food was, it was the getting together that was the most enjoyable part of the evening.

The "couples photos" started with Bruce trying to do "rabbit ears" with Lisa.

I was going for the "Hang Loose" sign, but it turned out to look more like I was trying to give Shelly a "wet willie" or something.

J.R. and Anna just tried to look like they enjoyed being with each other. (awwwwwwwwwww!)

All the while, the younger boys entertained themselves by playing games, starting at our house then heading over to the Loertscher's where we were playing a round of "Five Crowns," the addicting card game that J.R. got us hooked on during the cruise.

At the strike of Midnight the boys grabbed their pots and wooden spoons and made as much noise as possible.

Lucky Me, I get the opportunity to go to work for the remainder of the night.

Sounds like you guys had a good time. We had some left over fireworks that Nate lit off for the girls. It was so cold though that we made him go outside and set them off while we watched through the windows! I tried to take a video but it didn't turn out so well through the glass. Happy New Year!!

Your post made me remember the days when we first got married and we would switch off places to play cards. I think the game we always played was called "hand and foot". I would be hard pressed to remember how to play but I certainly remember the Chinese food, licorice and M&M's.

Happy New Year!!!

That's Right... Hand&Foot was the game. We spent countless hours playing that.

Wish one of us could remember how to play!

Wish we were all closer!
