Family Time!

Saturday was, in my opinion, the best day I've had in a LONG time. It was a Family Day. There was nothing on the agenda. We simply got to be together.

I was going to attack those stupid Chinese Elm trees behind the house with a chainsaw. The roots have ruined the back patio, and I simply hate them. However, once I really looked closely at it, I'd end up ruining a fence or part of the house no matter how I cut them, so I've conceded that a tree removal company is now in order.

After spending the morning cleaning the house and the garage, we went to Home Depot to get some flowers for Kylee's newly adopted planter;

in addition to Shelly's flower patch in front of the house.

The kids loved helping getting the ground ready:

as well as loved helping plant the flowers themselves.

After they were good and watered, we added some Bark for color.

I think it turned out rather nicely! Shelly and the kids picked some great plants!

Next weekend, my house! It looks awesome guys...I'm very jealous! Looks like you guys have an ample amount of help. Ry & Ky are welcome to help us with yard work any time. (Oh wait, they already have!)

Looks good, it is always nice to get some together time outside on nice sunny day. I am dying to get out in the yard to do some work... our flowerbeds are crying out for attention!

Unlike Tiff, I wouldn't be kidding when I say "How much does it cost to hire your children for my slave driving yard movement." ha ha- love the flowers, they always make yards and homes to much better :)
