May Update 2

Shelly hosted a McDonalds McNuggets / Shrek "House Party"...

She was provided with some Shrek and McDonald's stuff, and a gift card to buy some food. Shelly made some Shrek style cupcakes and put together party packs for all the kids.

The kids really enjoyed the food and the weather was perfect for a McPicnic! They then made up some game with a bunch of yarn. Needless to say the party was a hit with all the kids!

While Shelly was out getting the food, I took the opportunity to take photos of the kids, I think they turned out rather well!

Rylan went on his firs ever Boy Scout camp-out on the 21st - 22nd.
You can read about it here.

One of my favorite moments in May came on the 28th, my friend and neighbor Mike decided it was finally time to take down the Christmas Lights. Guess he's not a total Redneck after all... well, maybe.

Memorial Day Weekend was supposed to be our family getaway to Moab for 4 days... that, sadly, fell through. So, on Saturday I drove down to DJ a wedding.
I wish all my setups could have such a beautiful backdrop!

On my way out of Moab on Sunday I saw the moon just over the beautiful Red Rock Cliffs and had to take a couple photos:

Monday was the annual Memorial Day picnic at Grandma Kemp's. Good Food, the kids played fun games, and My kids, Trevor, and I went to see Prince of Persia. A fun filled day with family, the best kind!

End of the School Year

Every year, I offer a free DJ service to the school that my kids are in. This year, I was volunteered to be part of "Field Day", the big outside activity for the whole school. My job was to let them dance for a few minutes as one of the "stations" they got to visit. I think that I was the favorite attraction, I had kids keep coming back to hang out even after they were supposed to be done.

Kylee's class was actually the first group I got to work with...

Rylan got to help me a bit when his class came up.

After the classes were pretty much done, it was recess for the younger kids, and they all converged on me and wanted to do the YMCA, how could I say No?!

Later that evening, Rylan put on his annual Recital with his piano class. He never ceases to amaze me on just how talented he is!

On the last day of school, Shelly took pictures of the kids to see how they changed from the beginning of the school year.

Once home, it was time to celebrate the start of summer by eating ICE CREAM!

Rylan then wanted to do some "Experiments" in the front yard, and Shelly, (Best Mom Ever!) helped out.

It's going to be great having the kids out, I'm looking forward to a Fun-Filled Summer!

Non-Stop Fun

Another weekend filled with lots of activities.

Saturday morning started with "Pancakes with Parents" at the elementary school. So, bright and early at 8:30 to eat breakfast with the kids and attend a book fair. The kids each bought a book and entered the "Guess How Many Plastic Animals In The Jar" contest.

Straight from there we headed to Home Depot for the monthly woodworking project with the kids. This month's project was an "Easel" for displaying pictures.

It's always fun to help the kids make their projects, and it was even better this month because Shelly was there as well.

From Home Depot, it's run home, change the kids into their Martial Arts uniform and head straight to Belt Testing for both of them.

After demonstrating the forms required for their advancement, they each had to demonstrate strength and concentration.

Kylee had to break a board with her foot...

Rylan had to break 2 boards, one with his elbow... The other as a jumping side kick.

This was done in rapid succession, rather impressive.

Both passed their test and advanced in rank. Rylan to Blue Belt and Kylee to Green.

After a celebration lunch, Dad had to head out to DJ a party in Park City, rolling back in around 1AM.

A Long, but fun-filled day!
