Animal Kingdom Day

We spent the better part of the day at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

We started off the day waiting for the park to open, with only a few people in front of us:

First thing, we took an African Safari.

The highlight ride for all of us was EVEREST. A great roller coaster, seen in the background here:

We made several new friends:

And the "Tree of Life" is amazingly cool, with different animals formed to make the trunk.

The park has a 3-D experience based around the movie "Bug's Life" which totally freaked out Kylee. Mechanical Spiders dropping from the ceiling was almost more than she could take. The Dinosaur ride was the most "intense" of the day, it had all of us jumping. I thought it was way fun.

After several hours at the park, the kids each bought a stuffed animal and we headed back to the Cheesecake Factory for a late lunch. They REALLY need to open one of these in Salt Lake!!!

After dinner we ran to MGM Studios to catch the production Fantasmic. A Very Cool production involving Disney Characters and theatrical effects. For me, the most amazing part was when they would show video using a mist of water as the projection surface. (I'll post a sample on You Tube and link it later.)

All-In-All a very fun day. Its a great feeling to be here with my beautiful wife and great kids. I'm not looking forward to having to go back to the "Real World" in a few days. For now, tomorrow should be a relaxing day.
