Birthday / Holiday Week

I've had the chance to have a Fun-Filled Birthday week culminating in 4th of July celebrations.

The 26th, the kids performed at the Tooele Arts Festival and did a great job! It's always fun to watch them perform their martial arts!

That evening I DJ'd a wedding, and rolled in around 1am to see that the kids had made me a "Birthday" sign.

The 27th, being my actual birthday, I went to Church in the morning and DJ'd a party for the families of Hill Air Force Base in the evening. They were nice enough to have a birthday cake for me!

Shelly and I went out to dinner on Monday to celebrate. I love the chance to go on a date with my cute wife!

Fast Forward to Friday the 2nd. Shelly, Tara, Tiffany, Anna, Kylee, and Courtney went to the "Air Supply" concert here in Tooele while I DJ'd a wedding in SLC. I think we all were where we wanted to be, I do love spending time with my Wife, but Air Supply would have been a tough sell!

Traditionally Shelly's sister would have stayed here to go to the Tooele Parade, but apparently they decided to move on from us so we got to go to the parade with just us and the Loertscher's.

J.R. was running the 5K so we cheered him on as he passed..

We did get a "Flyover" of 4 F-16's from Hill Air Force Base to start the parade off... (I always love seeing that!)

Shelly, of course, had the kids looking cute for the 4th! (3rd)

After the parade we headed toward the park about 3 blocks away for the activities there, and Rylan and I learned first hand how crappy the sidewalks are in part of Tooele, we both tripped at the same time, lucky for Rylan he didn't take a chunk out if his big toe!

The park was otherwise uneventful except Rylan managed to win another goldfish, *sigh*!

That evening we had the Birthday Barbecue that I was pretty sure the Barnes Girls had scheduled but didn't attend! We did have it with the Loertscher's! There's something magical about a New York Steak cooked on the grill with freshly cooked corn and sauteed mushrooms!

We played some cards until it was time to light some fireworks!

I even managed to capture the "explosion" of a 'Snap' in Rylan's hand!

Sunday the 4th we visited my parents (no photos) then went to Tara and Wes' to let Kylee stay a few days, roast a few marshmallows, and do more fireworks!
Trevor was on "Fire Building" duty while Kylee entertained Noah and Rylan just chilled!

I've been playing with Timed Exposures on my new camera and captured a few cool Fireworks shots!

October 31, 2009

October 31st was a VERY special day this year. It was Kylee's 8th Birthday...

After an early morning celebrating as a family, it was time for the big event of the day, Kylee's baptism.

We got all our friends and family (Missed Nate and Angie halfway across the country) over to the house to celebrate the morning and wish Kylee a Happy Birthday.

Before getting spoiled with presents, the kids got to take a swing at the "Shoe" piƱata.

Ky got lotsa presents, but the Hilight of the Day was getting a ZhuZhu pet.

Of course, Halloween would not be complete without the kids dressing up...

Kylee managed to Crash Hard...

UEA Weekend

You just gotta love an extended weekend with the kids out of school!

I took Friday as a "recovery" day since I put in way too many hours Mon - Thu this week. Kylee let me know in no uncertain terms that we would be going on our "date" since I had taken Rylan to the Utes games and Dylan to see a movie over the past little while.

So we got all ready to ... Go Bowling. Kylee has been pestering us for weeks to go bowl, so how could I say no?!

Following the bowling, we had lunch at McD's and went to the park to play on the swings. (Sorry, no photos, we were too busy swinging. =D )

Otherwise, Friday was a rather Lazy day. Those don't happen too often in the Taylor Household!

Saturday was another "Action Packed" type of day. Since it's the First Saturday of the month, the kids made sure that I took them to Home Depot for our monthly Project Making outing.

This month it was making a "Fire Station" bank.

Home Depot also teamed up with the fire station here to bring one of their fire trucks down, so the kids climbed on that for a few and showed off their finished banks.

The early afternoon was spent as we participated in Kylee's Red Belt testing.

That evening Dylan and I went into Salt Lake for the Priesthood Session of General Conference. I was rather excited, it was the first time for both Dylan and Myself to attend a session of General Conference in Salt Lake.

The "protesters" were rather quiet this evening, I was hoping for some sort of entertaining sidewalk show as we were going to the Conference Center. I will say, the sign someone put on one of the designated protest areas was hysterical!

Following the meeting we went with my friend Kip and his two boys to the Crown Burger downtown. To say it was crowded would be a massive understatement!!!!

Sunday was Brooklyn's Birthday Party at the Zezulas.

Tiffany made a YUMMY chili, and we were joined by almost the whole family. Tiff & Trev (Obviously) as well as the Parents, Wes, Tara & Noah, Tim & Kami, and Us. Only thing missing were Nate & Angie and kids.

Brooklyn's favorite present was the "Baby" doll that her Mom & Dad got her.

Kylee finally got to give Brooklyn her present (The Barbie Jeep that Nate & Angie gave her a few years ago). She's gonna love it as much as Kylee did. I'm glad to see we can keep handing it down the family.

We also go to eat some of the cute and yummy Princess cake that Tiff made.

The Boys spent the remainder of the evening playing Texas Hold-Em. Wes won the last "Winner Takes All" hand.
